Maria Sison-Wright, PT

maria-sison-wrightMaria Sison-Wright is founder and director  of Inner Core Wellness. She has been practicing as a physical therapist for 26 years with extensive experience in orthopedic, neurological and sport injuries. In 2004, she received her pilates certification under the tutelage of master teachers , Romana Kryzanowska, the world-renowned protégé of Joseph Pilates and her daughter Sari Mejia Santo in New York City. Her certification process included a required minimum of 800+ hours of apprenticeship. Since then she maintains a high standard of continuing education commitment through post-graduate rehabilitation courses and regular Pilates continuing education with master teachers. She is a fully certified MELT METHOD  instructor. Thanks to her strong interest in Classical Pilates and the MELT Method, she has been able to apply the MELT Method and  Pilates principles in her physical therapy practice with positive results from her patients. She believes in “w”holistic approach of physical therapy addressing the body as a whole, thus rehabilitating not only the specific injury but the overall well being of her clients. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Romana’s Pilates. Maria is a very passionate and active member of Medical Mission of Mercy USA which provides free volunteer medical services to the underprivileged in the Philippines every year. She enjoys traveling, cooking and playing the piano. She lives with her husband and her dog “Toby” in Falls Church, VA.

 Bella Giuliano

BELLA PICBella Giuliano has always loved movement since the 2nd grade through ballet, tap, gymnastics, martial arts, and participating on the cheerleading team, the dance team, doing aerobics in the 80’s, and running.  From early adulthood she has wanted to teach a body movement; after many years of working in different corporate environments such as; an agent for New York Life, commercial real estate, and also with a branch of The New York Stock Exchange. Later, Bella started studying The Pilates Method in 1997 and received her Certificate in 2002 through the rigorous program of The Authentic Pilates Method in NYC.  Fortunately, Bella had the honor to study under the tutelage of Joseph Pilates protégé Romana Kryzanowska and Romana’s daughter Sari Mejia Santo.  After 17 years, Bella is still very passionate about the Pilates Method!  Bella quotes Joseph Pilates, “It is for Every BODY!”  At this time, Bella is creating the third phase in life by turning her other passions into a career as an Interior Designer with a MA in Landscaping Design.  She resides on the south side of Arlington with her beloved husband.

Holly Jahshan, PT, DPT, OCS

holly-jhashanHolly is a certified Pilates instructor with almost 15 years of teaching experience, and she maintains currency through Romana’s Pilates in New York. Her true passion lies in teaching Pilates as Joseph Pilates taught Romana to teach it. Holly takes a proactive view of musculoskeletal wellness, conducting injury and preventative screenings in the community.  Holly graduated from Marymount University with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree and she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College. She is a graduate of The Jackson Clinics Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program and a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS).

Brenna Nolan



Lori Popovich

Lori Popovich became a student of classical Pilates in 2003 in an effort to heal herself from a chronic back injury she sustained from participation in high school sports. Overtime, Lori learned to initiate movement from her core/powerhouse, using the classical exercises developed by Joseph Pilates, ridding herself of chronic pain and compensatory weaknesses. She attributes a significant percentage of her full recovery to consistently and persistently doing Authentic Pilates 2-3x a week taught from properly trained instructors. Lori was so inspired by the results (increased strength, mobility, stamina, control, improved posture from proper pelvic & spinal alignment), as well as by the dedicated instructors around her, she decided to become an instructor herself. In 2008, Lori became a certified Power Pilates Instructor following the rigorous 600 hours+ Power Pilates Comprehensive program which includes Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced Systems. Lori also graduated from Boston College with dual degrees in Finance and Personnel Management.

Rebecca Presti


For as long as she can remember, Rebecca has loved to move. Whether it was hanging upside down from the monkey bars or teaching herself back handsprings, she has always been fascinated and enlivened by the power that the body has to offer. After years of competitive athletics and focusing on the outcome of physical training, yoga brought a new dimension to her life; the chance to grow but also respect the process of advancing while attending to the body’s needs. Around the same time, she also discovered Pilates and was intrigued that small, precise movements could prove to be so difficult and also could create profound physical change. Rebecca believes that the combination of Pilates and yoga creates a dynamic opportunity to build strength from the core, both physically and emotionally and that there is no one too weak, too injured, or too old to benefit from these practices! Her classes are challenging yet compassionate and attentive to each person in the room. It is her goal to be an inspiration to her students, to empower them in their own healing and strengthening processes and to help them reconnect to their intelligent body, mind and spirit. If you meet her on the mat you will be challenged, you’ll most likely break a sweat and with perseverance to the process, you WILL be changed. Rebecca holds a Comprehensive Training Certificate from Power Pilates, including all mat and apparatus; she also is a Forrest Yoga Associate Teacher and a fully certified MELT Method instructor. When not teaching, she enjoys writing and playing music, dancing, ice skating and spending time with her husband and dog.
