Program Entry Requirements:
You must be prepared to dedicate at least 15 hours per week to observation. These hours are essential for your development as a Romana’s Pilates instructor, providing valuable insight into how to teach effectively and understand the necessary modifications for different body types. They are key to deepening your Pilates knowledge and honing your skills.
You should be at a strong intermediate level in Pilates, as defined by Romana’s Pilates standards, with proficiency on all major equipment, including the mat. This will be assessed by a Romana’s Pilates instructor at Level 4 or higher. Typically, it takes between 75 to 100 lessons to be adequately prepared for the Romana’s Pilates certification program.
An interview and initial assessment are required for admission into the program.
Initial Assessment and Interview:
The initial assessment involves demonstrating your understanding of the Romana’s Pilates System at the Intermediate level. This includes knowledge of the exercise order, understanding the purpose of each exercise, and proficiency with the various equipment, including the reformer, Cadillac, mat, and chairs. You will be assessed on proper spring setup, your ability to transition smoothly between exercises, and your overall readiness to learn and perform the exercises.
The assessment typically lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours and includes an interview. It can be conducted at Inner Core Wellness or another Romana’s Pilates studio by a Level 4 instructor or a higher level RP instructor.
